TIARA WESTLAKE - FOUNDER
Tiara has been in the media industry since she was little. Starting as an actor for Indonesian TV, she saw how the crew worked together to tell each story and was inspired to produce her own work. Driven by the vision to create meaningful films, she feels every project is an opportunity to introduce new thoughts and offer fresh perspectives.
Aside from leading KAMUKAMI, Tiara has created many of her own projects. Her films are understated and introspective, often exploring themes of identity and belonging. Her most recent short film 'Maya' delves into the topic of tradition and mixed racial identity. 'Maya' was backed by BAFTA-nominated production company Frank&Lively, and it premiered at Brighton Rocks Festivals in the summer of 2021. Since then the film has been screened at the Female Eye Film Festival (FeFF), London Lift-Off Film Festival, and Woman X Festival.
Paying homage to Tiara's Indonesian roots, kamu and kami directly translate to you and us. The name is an invitation for you to join our team of changemakers, making a difference, one film at a time.
